Patrons' testimonials rave about the genuine Mr. Sushi dining experience:

1. Sy S.

Tucked away near a grocery store, this restaurant boasts a warm and welcoming ambiance. The service was quick and friendly. The food exceeded our expectations. Initially, we were skeptical due to the seemingly unauthentic name "Mr. Sushi," but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes. It's definitely become our new go-to spot for sushi and Japanese cuisine.'

This is my usual spot for sushi, but today I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try some new dishes. I started with the nigiri appetizer and the stone pot chicken bibimbap, which comes with a choice of soup or salad. I usually opt for the soup here (it's fantastic!), but this time I tried the salad with ginger dressing.

Service was swift. We were seated immediately, and our server took our order right away. The nigiri was as excellent as expected from this top-notch sushi restaurant. However, the salad was a letdown. It looked unappetizing with the thick ginger dressing and tasted just as disappointing. My husband didn’t care for it either, although he finished it. I switched to miso soup, which was as delightful as always.

When the stone pot arrived, it was overwhelmingly filled with rice, which made the dish taste bland. I also think I chose the wrong protein; I’ve heard rave reviews about the beef version. My husband tried the seafood stone pot and liked the flavor. He said he would order it again but would ask for less rice next time.

We'll definitely return, but I’ll be sticking to what they do best sushi.

The service was excellent, although our server seemed a bit underwhelmed to be there—haha. The shrimp tempura was spot-on, featuring a perfectly crispy breading. The miso soup was delightful, though the edamame lacked flavor, and the sake was somewhat disappointing. On the other hand, the spicy tuna rolls delivered a satisfying kick, and the California roll was delicious. My girlfriend enjoyed her teriyaki salmon and had nothing but good things to say about it!

This was our first visit, and we were impressed by the nice variety of sushi on the menu. It's a quiet and pleasant place for sushi. The waitress was friendly, although she didn't check back to offer anything additional, and we had to ask for our bill. Despite this, we would definitely return just to enjoy the sushi again.

I visited this place a few days ago to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. We had made a reservation, and our table was ready upon arrival. The service was efficient and prompt. Our sushi arrived quickly too. This time, I tried the salmon roll, which was fresh and delicious. I also had the volcano roll and the kanikatsu roll, both of which were packed with flavor and very savory. I would definitely order all three again. Additionally, the presentation was so appealing that I ended up taking photos of some of my friends' plates because they looked amazing!

I'm a big fan of sushi, so when I mentioned needing to visit Gahanna, my boyfriend immediately suggested dinner at Mr. Sushi. Although I hadn't been there before, I had heard positive reviews and was eager to try it out. We arrived around 6pm without a reservation, and the place quickly became packed. By the time we left, every seat was occupied, and there was a waiting list.

We were ushered to a booth in the corner and given menus that you mark to place your order, which I always find fun. Our server was friendly and attentive right from the start, and our sushi arrived promptly.

We shared a plum wine and each chose two rolls. I went for the shrimp tempura and the Buckeye roll, while my boyfriend opted for two of the deep-fried rolls. Although we stopped there, the extensive menu had many other tempting options. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially compared to downtown where I live. Here, the rolls were priced between $10-14, unlike the usual $14-18, making it well worth the drive.

Despite not being very hungry, I quickly finished my shrimp tempura roll, a perennial favorite of mine. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the other three rolls, and we even had a few bites left to take home. We left very satisfied and are definitely planning a return visit.

  • There's another location in Dublin, and both are fantastic!
